Senior Internal Auditor

Mazars is seeking for a senior internal auditor supporting the management / governing bodies of the Company on the ongoing improvement / enhancement the effectiveness / quality of the implemented internal control framework.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support in the execution of the internal audit activities of the Company;
  • Support in defining the nature and extent of the internal audit work required in order to properly address the identified risks in each area of the Company;
  • Support the planning of internal audit assignments composed by different audit units  in order to define the scope of audit diligences and the related FTEs required;
  • Support the design and implementation of a three-year strategic internal audit plan based on assessed risks in accordance with the appropriate Luxembourg laws and regulation in force and the IIA standards;
  • Provide your reporting lines with a clear overview on the internal audit strategic coverage for the next three years and relevant results of the internal audit interventions performed;
  • Support in the execution of multiple internal audit workstreams, working closely with Directors and Partners of the different departments;
  • Support the development of an advanced understanding of Company’s business needs and key risks;
  • Assist the Company’s management and governing bodies during the cycle of the internal audit assignments;
  • Ensure the high quality of overall delivery and coordinate auditees to ensure timely service delivery to clients;
  • Participate in the growth and eminence of Mazars by promoting our services and representing the firm at external events (e.g. participate to external working groups, write articles).

 

Qualifications:

  • Master degree (Economics, Finance, Accounting or Law);
  • Working experience of more than 2 years in the internal audit or regulatory advisory service line of an audit &consulting firm / financial institution and have developed strong knowledge of the regulation and business operations for the European / Luxembourg market;
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques including risk assessment, audit scoping, devising audit approach, controls testing, substantive audit testing including sampling techniques;
  • Excellent analytical & pragmatic mindset combined with relevant organisational skills;
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment;
  • Proven creativity with the ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions;
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships / collaborations with your peers and superiors through business-oriented mindset;
  • Self-starter attitude, keen to learn and build expertise;
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken). French / any other language would be considered as an additional asset;
  • CIA certification would be considered as an additional asset;
  • Knowledge of the International Standard on Quality Management would be considered as an additional asset;
