Assistant Manager / Manager Sustainability

With the new CSRD regulation in force, we are looking for a Sustainability /Manager to build the sustainability practice team under the responsibility of our sustainability leader. You will have the opportunity to join the global Mazars CSRD and Sustainability taskforces and be the point of reference for the firm in that domain.

 

You will have the opportunity to build the sustainability team that will be on one side advise clients and accompany them in their sustainability journey and, on the other side, be the driver of the sustainability assurance engagements in support of the financial audit teams. CSRD and new regulations have imposed new standards and need for expert and you have the opportunity to play this role under the responsibility of the Sustainability leader and with the help of the actual people involved on the matter. 

 

Your role will be to:

  • Assist audit teams in managing sustainability audit engagements for international clients in various business sectors aiming at providing assurance on non-financial information related to Sustainability with focus on CSRD and EU Taxonomy assurance;
  • Manage CSRD and EU Taxonomy regulation implementation / readiness assessment;
  • Be the sustainability subject matter expert and support members of extended audit teams for any sustainability related query;
  • Build and grow relationships with clients and internal stakeholders;
  • Seek and embrace client opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives;
  • Take part to Mazars global taskforce and working groups on the matter and be representative of Mazars Luxembourg in local organizations;
  • Deliver training to audit and advisory teams on sustainability related matter.

 

Your profile:

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, sustainability, or similar certification;
  • You have proven experience in sustainability assurance engagements, including the evaluation of controls over operational and/or financial (non-financial) processes;
  • You have a good understanding of EU environmental regulations and extensive experience in ESG and sustainability-related topics including environmental regulations, carbon emission and energy management, carbon footprint measurement, climate risk assessment;
  • You have a good understanding of sustainability frameworks, initiatives, and regulations, including but not limited to: Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), EU Taxonomy Regulation, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) amongst others; 
  • You have strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to challenging situations and various profiles;
  • You are capable of working on your own and building a team;
  • You have a good analytical and numeric skills;
  • You have excellent communication skills;
  • You have good planning and coordination abilities;
  • You are Business-oriented;
  • You speak French/English. German is an asset;
  • Holding a professional qualification (ACCA, IRE etc.) would also represent an advantage;
